LAHORE: Air pollution in Lahore has worsened, with the city topping the list of the world’s most polluted cities after its Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 194.
According to the report, an AQI of 210 was recorded in Allama Iqbal Town, 207 on Barki Road, 187 in Model Town and Bedian Road, and 186 in Defence.
Medical experts have advised residents to take precautionary measures, keep doors and windows closed, and wear masks, particularly while travelling on motorcycles.

Experts say smog is a form of air pollution caused by a combination of smoke and fog. It can cause eye irritation, coughing and throat irritation and may worsen respiratory problems. Children, older people and those with respiratory conditions are more vulnerable to its effects.
