Karachi: The Shehbaz government has once again added to the burden on the public by announcing another increase in the prices of petrol and diesel for the next 24 hours.
This marks the third consecutive increase in petroleum product prices. Over the past three days alone, the price of petrol has risen by a total of Rs21.88 per litre, while diesel has become Rs14.62 per litre more expensive.
Following approval by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the Petroleum Division has issued an official notification announcing the revised prices.
Under the new rates, the price of petrol has increased from Rs364.35 to Rs367.75 per litre. Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised from Rs385.95 to Rs392.67 per litre.
In the previous review conducted on Wednesday, the government had also increased the price of petrol by Rs5.58 per litre and High-Speed Diesel by Rs4.18 per litre.
The repeated increases have once again pushed petroleum product prices to significantly high levels across the country, adding further pressure on consumers already facing rising living costs.
