Three people were killed and two others injured after unknown assailants opened fire on the vehicle of tribal chief Malik Sardar Ali in South Waziristan.
According to police, the incident took place in the Darblai area of Tehsil Barmal, where armed men targeted the vehicle.
The shooting left three people, including an Afghan driver riding in the vehicle, dead at the scene, while two others, including the tribal chief’s son, sustained injuries.
Deputy Police Officer (DPO) South Waziristan, Tahir Shah, said that investigations are underway and operations have been launched to apprehend the suspects.
Meanwhile in another incident, three people died and three others, including two women, injured in a gunfight between two groups in Moski village, located in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan.
Police said the clash erupted in Moski over unknown reasons, with armed men from both sides exchanging fire.
The deceased were residents of the Eidak area of the district.
