Seven members of govt-backed peace force killed in Bannu

Unknown individuals attacked the office of government-backed peace force commander Qari Jaleel, killing seven people in Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to police sources, the attack on Qari Jaleel’s office resulted in the deaths of 7 people and injuries to 2 others. The bodies and the injured have been transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital.

Police sources said that those killed include Osama, Sufyan, Muhammad Niaz, Muhammad Sufyan, Wali, Noman, and Master, while the injured include Kamran and Muhammad.

Following the incident, police and security forces cordoned off the area and began searching for the terrorists.

In Kurram district, the military’s media wing reported that at least 12 terrorists were neutralized, while another 11 were killed in separate operations.

Operations targeting militants also took place in Tank, Mohmand, and Lakki Marwat districts.

Since the Afghan Taliban came to power in 2021, terrorist attacks have surged in Pakistan, particularly in the border provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
