Hamas’s ceasefire response is welcomed, Egyptian FM to visit Pakistan: FO

The Foreign Office has stated that it welcomes Hamas’s response to the ceasefire agreement proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, while the Egyptian Foreign Minister has accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan.

According to details, Pakistan has welcomed Hamas’s response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace plan. The Foreign Office stated that this opportunity is significant for an immediate ceasefire and ending the bloodshed in Gaza.

In its recent statement, the Foreign Office stated that ensuring uninterrupted delivery of aid to the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza is essential. Israel must immediately halt its attacks. Pakistan has appreciated President Trump’s peace efforts. It is hoped that these efforts will pave the way for a lasting ceasefire and permanent peace.

The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Pakistan will continue to play a constructive and meaningful role during the Gaza ceasefire. We fully support the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people and renew our principled stance on the Palestine issue. Pakistan supports the establishment of a sovereign, viable, and contiguous Palestinian state.

The Foreign Office stated that the Palestinian state should be based on the pre-1967 borders. Al-Quds Al-Sharif will be the capital of the Palestinian state.

Contact with Egyptian Foreign Minister

Meanwhile, according to the Foreign Office’s statement, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty. The two foreign ministers discussed bilateral relations and the regional situation.

During the conversation, the ministers discussed the grave situation in Gaza and the ongoing diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire. They also discussed the consultative meeting of Arab and Islamic countries in New York.

The Foreign Office stated that both countries’ foreign ministers emphasized the need for an immediate and sustainable ceasefire and the provision of humanitarian aid. Ishaq Dar described Hamas’s response to the peace plan as positive.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar extended an invitation to the Egyptian Foreign Minister to visit Pakistan. The Foreign Office stated that Egyptian Foreign Minister has accepted the invitation to visit Pakistan. Both countries agreed to continue coordination for a lasting and just peace in Gaza.
