Elon Musk’s AI tool, Grok, has been accused of generating “sexually explicit” visuals of pop singer Taylor Swift without any user prompts, according to the tech publication The Verge.
A journalist from The Verge reported that while testing Grok Imagine, she requested visuals of “Taylor Swift celebrating Coachella with the boys.”
The tool produced more than 30 images, many showing the singer in revealing outfits. Grok Imagine, available on iOS, offers four presets—“Custom,” “Normal,” “Fun,” and “Spicy”—for generating pictures, which can then be converted into videos.
Although the generated visuals lacked an exact likeness to Swift, they were still identifiable as her, the report noted. Requests for “nude pictures” resulted in blank images, even under the “Spicy” preset. However, some AI-generated depictions portrayed Swift “sexily swaying” or “suggestively motioning to her clothes.”
The incident echoes a controversy from last year when deepfake images of Swift spread rapidly across social media.
One image shared on X reached 47 million views before the account was suspended. While several accounts were removed for posting such content, the trend persisted, with the material reappearing on other platforms despite moderation efforts.
