Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) has introduced upgraded variants of its two vehicles, the Karvaan and the Sherpa.
During a grand ceremony in Lahore, the company announced a major milestone for the Changan Karvaan, saying that its sales in Pakistan have surpassed 25,000 units. Introduced five years ago, the Karvaan has secured a leading position in its category and now holds over 52 percent market share in the seven-seater MPV segment. Once a less-noticed multi-purpose van, it has continually advanced in modern design, technology, and power.
The newly introduced Karvaan Power Plus UG features a notable engine upgrade, replacing the previous 1.0-liter engine with a powerful 1.2-liter engine that delivers 44 percent more horsepower while also offering improved fuel efficiency.
Alongside performance, the company has prioritized safety by introducing dual airbags for both the driver and front passenger, an ABS braking system with EBD, and rear parking sensors — the first time these features have been offered in this category.
Addressing the ceremony, Master Changan Motors CEO Danial Malik said that the Karvaan is not merely a vehicle, but a movement. It has transformed public expectations regarding seven-seater vans by setting new standards of dignity, modern design, and reliability in everyday transportation.
He added, “Today, we proudly continue this journey with the upgraded Karvaan UG and the next-generation Sherpa Power 1.2.”
