KARACHI: Two passenger train bogies of Karachi-bound Allama Iqbal Express overturned on Sunday morning near Kotri in Sindh.
As per Railway authorities, the Allama Iqbal Express coaches derailed as track was blocked for traffic. No reports of injuries or major damage have been reported so far.
Railway police said two wheels of the bogies went off the track when it was entering the railway station. Railway traffic remained suspended for an hour due to the incident and was restored after repair and maintenance of the railway track.
The 50-metre railway track was destroyed and other trains had to be stopped at nearby stations. According to authorities, engineering and repair teams restored the railway track within an hour. After separating the derailed bogies, the train departed for Karachi and railway traffic was restored.
