A fistfight broke out in KP Assembly on Tuesday between government and opposition members.
The opposition has registered its protest regarding the decision to grant the microphone to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur during the assembly session.
Opposition lawmakers expressed their frustration over “not being allotted time to share their views” in the KP Assembly. A confrontation occurred between Ali Wazir and Naik Muhammad.
On Tuesday, supporters of Nek Muhammad in the assembly gallery reportedly directed abusive language at Wazir and issued threats against him. This incited a fierce response from Wazir’s supporters, leading to a physical altercation between the two groups within the assembly hall.
Despite attempts by the assembly sergeant and security personnel to restore order, the situation quickly spiraled beyond their control.
Tensions also flared between the treasury and the opposition when ANP lawmaker Nisar Baaz expressed frustration over being denied the opportunity to speak. “Why are we not given time to speak?” he asked, while fellow lawmakers tried to calm him and assured him that he would have his chance to address the assembly.
