The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has resolved to initiate an air ambulance service in the province, local media reported on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur chaired a meeting with officials from the provincial health department, instructing them to expedite measures for the launch of the ambulance service within four months.
Moreover, the meeting attendees also agreed to establish motorbike response units to cater to sparsely populated areas across the province. These units will be outfitted with modern equipment and medications to provide immediate medical aid during emergencies.
In addition, it was decided to designate Hayatabad as a Health Care City and to set up Health Information and Service Delivery Units in government hospitals throughout the province.
Furthermore, an Executive Health Check-Up Program targeting senior citizens aged 65 and above will be introduced in major government hospitals, providing free check-ups every three months.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Amin Ali Gandapur underscored the importance of devising a new health policy to modernize the healthcare sector and elevate THQ hospitals to be included in the health card panel.
