KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected results of Local Government elections held in the 2nd phase in Karachi and Hyderabad on Sunday, and accused the Election Commission of Pakistan of being directly involved in rigging.

Addressing a news conference, President of PTI Sindh Chapter Ali Zaidi said results were being withheld even after passage of more than 20 hours and their candidates were waiting outside the offices of Returning Officers (ROs). He further alleged that the ECP was not only biased, but was acting as collaborator for PDM.

He said PPP was being made victorious as part of political engineering, and asked as to how the people of Karachi could vote for PPP after witnessing miserable plight of the Metropolis. He said he does not recognize the PPP of Zardari and Bilawal, and expressed apprehension that after this presser, Sindh Police might start following him (in order to arrest).

Ali Zaidi said his party had all the evidences of rigging and manipulation of election results, and that the same would soon be produced before court of law to challenge the Sindh LG polls.
