The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be played in Qatar exactly five months later, with the sale of tickets already underway.
According to foreign media reports, more than 1.2 million tickets for the scheduled Football World Cup 2022 have been sold in Qatar, which shows the interest of the fans in football.
FIFA, the world governing body for football, says that in the latest round of ticket sales, 23.5 million ticket applications have been received so far at the end of April. These include Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
It should be noted that FIFA World Cup tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis, which is why fans have already started sending out applications to buy tickets.
On the other hand, host Qatar expects more than 1.2 million people to come to the country during the World Cup, which is half of the country’s total population.
At the Qatar Economic Forum, hosted by Bloomberg, Hassan al-Zawadi said organizers were working to protect the tournament from price-adjusting fans so that local businesses could benefit as well as be accessible to World Cup fans.
It should be noted that the Football World Cup in Qatar will start in November this year and the first match will be played on November 21 at the Al-Bayt Stadium in the host Qatar and Ecuador.
The 32 teams participating in the World Cup are divided into 8 groups. All the 4 teams in the group will play one-on-one matches. The quarter-finals will start on December 9 and both on December 13 and 14.
