Around 950 Pakistanis were deported from various countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE and the United States, over allegations of begging abroad during 2025-26, while 49 passengers were offloaded at Karachi airport on suspicion of travelling overseas for the same purpose.
According to official figures, 897 Pakistanis were deported from Saudi Arabia between 2025 and 2026, the highest number among the countries listed.
Another 22 were deported from the United Arab Emirates, 11 each from Iraq and Oman, five from Qatar, and one each from Bahrain and Malaysia.
The figures also showed that 21 passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia were offloaded on suspicion of intending to beg abroad.
Seven passengers bound for Bahrain, and five each travelling to the UAE and Qatar, were also stopped.
Four passengers travelling to Oman and three heading to Malaysia were offloaded as well. One passenger each travelling to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia and Türkiye was also stopped.
All passengers who were offloaded were transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle for further legal proceedings, according to the authorities.
