LAHORE: Punjab Police have escalated their search and combing operations across the province, detaining 74 suspects in the last 24 hours as part of a sweeping crackdown against miscreants, terrorists, and criminal elements.
According to a spokesperson for the Punjab Police, a total of 383 operations were conducted in various districts, including Lahore, during which over 11,400 individuals were questioned.
The operations are part of an ongoing effort to maintain law and order and curb criminal activities.
So far this year, Punjab Police have carried out 84,210 search and combing operations, during which more than 286,000 people were questioned, and 29,445 suspects were detained.
The operations have also led to the recovery of a significant cache of illegal weapons, including:
– 1,971 pistols
– 152 guns
– 213 rifles
– A large quantity of ammunition
Meanwhile, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Dr. Abdul Karim, has directed authorities to accelerate search, sweep, and intelligence-based combing operations.
Emphasizing the need for regular operations at sensitive locations, bus stands, hotels, and other public places, Dr. Karim stated that these measures are critical to enhancing the effectiveness of law enforcement and ensuring public safety.
The Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security in the province through proactive and sustained efforts.
