ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfi Bukhari and SAPM on National Security Moeed Yusuf called on Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad today (Tuesday).
According to details, matters pertaining to the repatriation of nationals from foreign countries were discussed during the meeting.
On the occasion, FM Qureshi asserted that the third phase of repatriation of Pakistanis from abroad was successfully underway.
He further said that the foreign ministry was trying to bring back seven thousand Pakistanis on weekly basis, adding that almost twelve thousand people have been repatriated till date.
FM Qureshi said, “The number of stranded Pakistanis is increasing day by day,” adding, “About 63,000 Pakistanis have been registered with us so far.”
The Foreign Minister also said that the capacity has been further enhanced due to the cooperation of the provinces. “This will help in repatriating more Pakistanis from abroad,” he added.
“In order to curb the spread of coronavirus, implementation of SOPs on testing and quarantine facilities at airports across the country is being ensured,” he said.
In this regard, Zulfi Bukhari and Moeed Yousuf appreciated the efforts of the Foreign Minister for the repatriation of overseas Pakistanis.
