HYDERABAD: Four members of a family, including a female doctor have tested positive for COVID-19 in Thatta district on Tuesday.
Sindh health officials have confirmed that the female doctor, who works at the diagnostic laboratory of a private hospital in Karimabad, had tested positive for the COVID-19 along with her husband, daughter, and mother-in-law.
The officials further said the family, which lives in Mirpur Sakro taluka village, has been put under home isolation.
According to sources, in the same district, a bank manager and three of his family members tested positive for the COVID-19 on Sunday.
Sources said eight staff members of the private bank have been put under home quarantine, adding that health officials collected their samples for testing on Monday.
Meanwhile, an assistant commissioner has contracted the COVID-19, after which the staff of his office has also been isolated in Shikarpur district. The assistant commissioner, Jawad Ali Larik, has quarantined himself at his residence.
A total of 30 COVID-19 cases have detected so far in Shikarpur, including five doctors and two local government representatives, according to Sindh Health department.
Earlier, an employee of the Karachi city court tested positive for the novel COVID-19 on Monday.
A clerk belonging to the administration branch of the West district was reportedly diagnosed with the virus and has been isolated at his residence. His family will also be tested for the COVID-19.
As many as 49 workers of the administration branch of Karachi city court were screened for the COVID-19, with only the clerk testing positive.
The confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan have surged past 14,079 after 751 new cases were reported from different parts of the country.
According to the health officials, the country has reported 301 deaths. So far, 3,233 patients have recovered from coronavirus across the country.
