QUETTA: Balochistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said it had killed 10 militants belonging to a banned organisation during a major operation in Barkhan district.
According to a detailed statement issued by CTD Balochistan, the operation was intelligence-based and aimed at dismantling a militant network operating in the area. The department said the timely action by security personnel had thwarted the militants’ alleged plans.
A CTD spokesperson said a large cache of modern weapons and ammunition was recovered from the militants killed in the exchange of fire. The seized weapons and ammunition were taken into custody.
Two CTD personnel were also injured in the exchange of fire during the operation. They were receiving immediate medical treatment, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that the police, CTD and other security agencies would continue coordinated operations with full resolve until terrorism was eliminated from the province.
