WASHINGTON: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide topped 20 million.
The number of coronavirus infection cases across the world has surged to 20,806,973 and the pandemic has so far claimed over 747,258 lives. According to the latest data, 13,706,688 patients have recovered from the pandemic so far.
The coronavirus has infected 5,360,302 million people in the United States and there have been 1,386 deaths in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths from the coronavirus in the US has risen to 169,131.
The number of corona patients in India has risen to 2,395,471 million and the total number of deaths has risen to more than 47,138. In Russia, the coronavirus has infected more than 902,701 people and killed 15,260.

Around 3,170,474 million people in Brazil are infected with the virus. A further 1,164 people have been killed in coronavirus, bringing the total to more than 104,263. The death toll from the coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 11,010, with 568,919 people affected.
The first five million cases of coronavirus in the world were reported within 185 days while the last 5 million cases came to light in just 18 days. The first case of coronavirus was reported in December last year in China.
The number of coronavirus cases worldwide reached 5 million on 20th May, while on 27th June, it reached more than 10 million. The total number of cases globally was more than 20 million on 9th August.
