SYLHET: Pakistan on Friday clinched a 13-run win over arch-rival India in Women’s Asia Cup being held in Bangladesh.
The Pakistani side won the toss and decided to bat first, registering a total of 138 runs for a loss of 6 wickets. Nida Dar demonstrated exceptional all-round performance by claiming two wickets and scoring 56 runs, which is now the highest-ever individual score by any Pakistani woman batter against India. Her innings recorded five boundaries and a six.
The Indian openers faced Nashra Sandhu who got early breakthroughs for the Pak side. Sabbhineni Meghana and Smriti Mandhana fell prey to Sandhu who finished as a top-wicket taker with three wickets in a historic win for Pakistan against India after six years.
Nida and Tuba Hassan joined Nashra as soon as the Indian side was put under pressure. The two bowlers took wickets in quick succession to help Pakistan remain on top of the line while defending the target.
The Indian side was all out for 124 runs while chasing the target of 138 runs.
