Will make efforts to make Gwadar economic hub of region: PM

BEIJING: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan and China will continue their efforts to make Gwadar the economic hub of the region.

The prime minister called on the Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, which was also attended by the Vice-Chairman of the Political and Consultative Council of China.

On the occasion, PM Imran Khan said that China and Pakistan are tried and tested friends. The Pakistan-China strategic partnership has stood the test of time.

The prime minister said that the cooperation of China’s National Development and Reform Commission is commendable. CPEC is an important component of the BRI project, the people of both countries are benefiting from CPEC, he said.

He said that CPEC projects had a positive impact on the Pakistani economy. “CPEC projects laid the foundation for sustainable economic development in the country,” he said.

The prime minister said, “Pakistan and China would continue their efforts to make Gwadar the economic hub of the region.” Chairman NDRC said that China attaches great importance to CPEC projects and China is committed to speedy progress on CPEC projects, he said.
