Spiritual guru Jaya Kishori recently responded to all the buzz about carrying a custom Dior bag costing above ₹ 2 lakh. Preacher Jaya Kishori, 29 years old, was spotted at an airport carrying a customized Dior “Book Tote”, triggering a potential viral discussion among supporters and critics questioning her choice.
Responding, Ms. Kishori said, “I am a normal girl; I live in a normal house with my family. I encourage young people to work hard, earn, and provide a good life for themselves and their families, fulfilling their dreams.” She said that though her Dior “Book Tote,” is quite valuable and custom-made, it’s crafted without leather.
However, her followers challenged the seeming inconsistency between spiritual teachings on detachment and holding material wealth, as a luxury item.
Who is Jaya Kishori?
Born on July 13, 1995, in Sujangarh, Rajasthan, Jaya Kishori began her spiritual journey at the tender age of seven. She is popularly known as the “Meera of the Modern Era” and has inspired millions through her devotional songs and spiritual discourses.
Ms. Kishori studied at the Mahadevi Birla World Academy and later graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shri Shikshayatan College in Kolkata.
