LAHORE: Veteran writer and Urdu novelist Mustansar Hussain Tarar had a pacemaker installed at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) the other day.
According to reports from multiple sources, Tarar, who is also Pakistan’s best-selling travelogue writer, has been admitted to the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) after he complained of chest pain on Saturday.
After installing the pacemaker, the doctors observed that the pacemaker is functioning accurately and installation of the medical device has helped in considerable improvement of the cardiac functioning of the patient.
The relatives of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz recipient have appealed to the masses to pray for his early recovery.
Mustansar Hussain Tarar has written more than 50 books including novels and a collection of short stories in his career. His first book was a travelogue published in 1971 by the title of Nikley Teri Talaash Main.
He also hosted PTV’s live morning show Subah Bakhair for many years and his unconventional and down-to-earth style of hosting earned him great popularity among people from all circles of life. He is one of the most recognised personality among children as he spent a big part of transmission time addressing children exclusively.
