Vasay Chaudhry, who is a writer, host, and actor, has called Pakistani movies an extension of India.
Vasay Chaudhry was a guest on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast and shared some of his views. While talking about similarities between Pakistani and Indian films, he said that both industries came out of a joint India in 1947 thus Pakistani films are an extension of Indian films.
“There is no copying from Bollywood as we have the same film culture as India,” he said by adding, “We have the same song styles, the same dancing, and the same type of songs that Indians now call item numbers.”
He also talked about the award shows in Pakistan and labelled Viewer’s Choice Awards being ‘stupid’. “We have copied the concepts from India and implemented them here but Viewer’s Choice is ‘Bakwaas’,” he said.
He added that it should be the right of peers and experts in the industry to award projects and everything should not become a race for ratings.
