LAHORE: Twitter was overjoyed as Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Australia captain Aaron Finch in the first of second one-day international (ODI) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Having lost the three-Test series 1-0 at the same venue, Babar Azam and his men look for a turnaround against a largely inexperienced yet professional Australian side.
The Men in Green showed poor performance in the opening game played sans key players Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan. Tuesday’s 88-run loss was Pakistan’s tenth consecutive ODI defeat at the hands of Australia, currently third on ICC one-day rankings.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl in the second ODI with the hosts aiming to bounce back and keep the series alive. Even though the decision spectacularly backfired in the series opener, captain Babar Azam again put Australia in to bat.
However, Pakistan was boosted by the return of star quick Shaheen Shah Afridi who replaced Hasan Ali in their only change. Shaheen Afridi removed Aaron Finch with a late swing full-toss on the third delivery of the first over. Soon after the wicket, social media users took to Twitter to express their feeling.
