The most valuable thing that man possesses is “thought”. It is this thought that allows a human being to lead a social life. It is this thought that exalts a piece of prose and raises the demands of repeated narration for a poem. It is this thought that creates political turmoil and also turns the direction of military storms. The greatest achievement of thought is that it first identifies collective interest for man and then ways to lead life.
The important quality of the thought is that it keeps changing over time, which further improves it. The most fundamental challenge to a thought is that since it affects more than one human being, either positively or negatively, it is faced with anything from dissident opinion to hostility. It may be said that modern man is the most knowledgeable, but like his ancestors, he remains convinced only as long as his own argument is strong.
The moment the argument weakens in the discussion, first abuse and then the bullet takes precedence. You can see these spectacles from religious debates to literary and scientific fields. If differences of thought and enmity happens between groups, they can lead to the linguistic and communal riots. The expression of any prominent figure can escalate the situation and causes bloodshed at any moment. In this case, usually the thought itself remains safe behind the security fence.
It is the common man that dies and suffers. For a great man, the thought only becomes a problem when he is a thinker, intellectual or scholar. The civil agreements that we hear and talks about and on whose behest governments are formed, are basically the result of the such thoughts. Now, the first thought that comes to mind is whether the thoughts of the thinkers are so profound that their effects are universal. It turns out that the greatest fear of those who have these thoughts is being associated with some other thinkers.
From here, the door of the state temptation opens. In human history, greatness has come to those who not only came up with thoughts, but also persevered when the winds of opposition and hostility arose. From the bowl of Socrates to the greatest and smallest political worker of our time, those who face temptation persevere for the sake of an thought.
Courage and bravery are just confined to any nation or religion or their followers show bravery for the sake of righteous thoughts. In every country and society, such courageous people are seen with a distinguished status. It is the effect of their spirit of sacrifice that such people of different religions and societies are respected on a universal level. For example, look at the universal respect for Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela. This respect is not merely due to presenting an idea, but due to the sacrifice made for one’s thoughts. They would not have made any achievements if they remains silent.
We are seeing such reckless people in our era who are sitting in Pakistan with their mouths shut, but as soon as they get a job in an American or British organization, they become brave overnight sitting thousands of kilometers away from their homeland. Just ask these clowns what is the reason that such an idea has never been heard from them here. They answer with complete shamelessness, “Where is it possible to tell the truth in Pakistan?” This was the same position presented years ago by a pro-PTI follower. “If the police will use violence, how will there be a revolution?”
Only those who speaks in hostile circumstances and suffers the consequences will remain invincible. A revolution succeeds in making its own way by crushing obstacles. There are no flowers for truth and no red carpet for revolution. The fact is that truth is restricted in every society. It was also a truth for which Malcolm X was killed. Malcolm X was assassinated not in Karachi, but in New York. A great boxer like Muhammad Ali threw his Olympic gold medal not in the Lyari River but in the Ohio River because Blacks like white skin was a reality that has no place in American restaurants and buses.
The only thing is that you do not have the courage to sacrifice for the truth. And the truth for which one does not have the courage to sacrifice cannot gain expression. There is a fact that the hollow narratives are not the truth but just propaganda. Truth is born from the womb of knowledge and narratives from the offices of intelligence agencies.
