According to Express News, a tragic accident occurred near Keti Bandar, where eight individuals drowned after their boat overturned in the sea.
The victims had traveled from Karachi to the coastal area for bird hunting.
Upon learning of the incident, local fishermen initiated an immediate rescue operation and successfully saved six people. However, two individuals went missing following the capsize.
Initial reports suggest that the primary cause of the accident was rough weather and high waves, which caused the boat to lose balance and overturn.
Local fishermen remain engaged in the search for the missing persons. According to officials from the Maritime Security Agency (MSA), a search and rescue operation is currently underway at the site of the accident.
During the operation, six individuals were rescued alive, while the body of one victim, identified as Zaheer Ahmed, has been recovered. The search for the second missing person, Wahid Bakhsh, is still ongoing.
Officials stated that among the victims, five are residents of Karachi, while three hail from Keti Bandar. The boat involved in the accident has also been recovered. Authorities believe the accident was likely caused by strong winds.
The group was reportedly engaged in amateur bird and fish hunting at Keti Bandar when the mishap occurred.
