Punjab Police has implemented comprehensive traffic management plans to ensure smooth road operations and public safety during New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The initiative focuses on addressing challenges such as one-wheeling, aerial firing, and reckless driving.
More than 25,000 personnel have been deployed across Punjab, including over 5,000 officers stationed in Lahore. These efforts are bolstered by specialized units such as the Dolphin Squad and Punjab Highway Patrol, which will patrol highways and major roads to maintain traffic flow.
In Rawalpindi, over 800 traffic wardens will collaborate with 6,600 police personnel to regulate traffic and enforce safety measures.
To deter illegal activities, 32 special pickets and additional checkpoints have been established in key locations. Patrolling units, including the Dolphin Force and Mohaf Squad, will closely monitor roadways, ensuring strict action against violators and promoting compliance with traffic rules.
