Major roads in Karachi remain affected due to ongoing protests by the Muttahida Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) in response to the Para Chinar incident.
According to national media reports on Monday, Several key routes have been blocked, causing significant traffic disruptions, while alternative routes have been provided.
Open Roads:
Shahrah-e-Faisal:
Completely reopened for traffic after the conclusion of protests at Drig Road and Malir 15. This road had been closed since December 26 but is now fully accessible.
Closed Roads:
District East:
Main M.A. Jinnah Road, Numaish Chowrangi: Closed for traffic.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted via 45 Congress, PP Chowrangi, Guru Mandir, Soldier Bazar, and Corridor 3.
Kamran Chowrangi: Completely closed for traffic.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted from Mausamiat to University Road, and through Manwar Chowrangi to inner areas.
Johar Morr towards Johar Chowrangi: Both roads closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted to Nipa via Johar Morr, and vehicles coming from Johar Chowrangi are being redirected to Perfume Chowk for a U-turn back to Johar Morr.
Gulshan-e-Johar, Block 19-20, near Imam Bargah: Roads closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted to Nipa via Johar Morr, and vehicles coming from Johar Morr redirected to Nipa.
Safiora Chowrangi (near Noor Ilahi Hotel): Road closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted towards Kiran Hospital.
District Malir:
Abu al-Hasan Isfahani Road, near Super Highway: Both sides closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted towards Paradise Bakery and further to Punjab Adda.
District Central:
Five Star Chowrangi: Completely closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic redirected through Service Road.
University Road, Metro Shopping Center towards Nipa: Closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic redirected to inner roads.
Shamsuddin Azimi Road (KDA Flats towards Sarjani Road): Closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted via Total Petrol Pump to Service Road.
Ancholi, Shahrah-e-Pakistan towards Sohrab Goth: Road closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted via Water Pump Chowrangi to Cardio Hospital and Gulberg Chowrangi.
Noorabad, Nazimabad No.1 towards Nazimabad No.2: Closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted via Lasbela to Teen Hatti.
Powerhouse Chowrangi, Nagan towards 4K: Road closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted via Shell Pump Cut to Service Road.
Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Ayesha Manzil Chowrangi: Closed.
Alternative Route: Traffic diverted from Karimabad via IRC to Ayesha Manzil Bridge and surrounding areas.
Ongoing Protests:
The MWM protests continue at Numaish Chowrangi, Kamran Chowrangi, Johar Morr, and other areas across Karachi. The traffic police have deployed additional personnel to manage the situation and keep alternate routes operational. Motorists are advised to avoid these areas and use the suggested alternative routes to minimize delays.
