For the fiscal year 2023-24, passenger earnings reached Rs 47.712 billion, surpassing the budgetary target by Rs 8.712 billion. This represents an increase of Rs 13.799 billion compared to the previous financial year.

To enhance passenger experience, Pakistan Railways has implemented several measures at stations and on trains, including modern dining cars, mobile charging sockets, and water dispensers for clean drinking water.

Additionally, Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) have been installed, along with information counters, digital display boards for train schedules, and facilities like wheelchairs and ramps for disabled passengers.

In efforts to improve train punctuality, the department is addressing speed restrictions with track maintenance, upgrading the signaling system with computerized interlocking, ensuring timely locomotive maintenance, and introducing new passenger coaches.

To address passenger complaints, a state-of-the-art call center under Railway Automated Booking and Travelling Assistance (RABTA) has been set up. Passengers can also submit complaints via the website or complaint registers available at stations and on trains.
