The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather advisory predicting heavy snowfall and rain in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas over the next few days.
In a statement on Wednesday, PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathiya revealed that Murree and its neighboring areas are expected to experience significant snowfall until January 6. This weather pattern could disrupt travel plans and create hazardous conditions for visitors to the region.
In response to the forecasted inclement weather, the PDMA has set up 13 facilitation centers to assist tourists during their visit. Kathiya urged travelers to carefully plan their trips, keeping the heavy snow in mind. He emphasized the importance of checking the weather conditions before setting out for Murree and advised tourists to exercise caution.
The district administration remains on high alert, with round-the-clock monitoring in place to manage any potential emergencies. Kathiya reassured the public that the administration is fully committed to providing guidance and ensuring the safety of all visitors to the region.
For immediate assistance in case of emergencies, the PDMA has made available the helpline at 1129 and a dedicated WhatsApp number at 0336980429.
The PDMA continues to advise all travelers to stay updated with weather reports and follow safety protocols to ensure their well-being during this winter weather.
