Commuters in Karachi faced severe traffic congestion due to ongoing sit-ins organized by the Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) at six different locations across the city.
On Tuesday, police initiated a crackdown on protesters after negotiations with them failed. Supporters of the MWM have staged demonstrations at 13 locations to protest the recent killings in Parachinar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The sit-ins, now in their fourth day, have significantly disrupted traffic flow in several areas. While the religiopolitical party has accused the provincial government of deliberately blocking roads, the traffic situation remains dire.
