ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar has said the Tiger Force volunteers will fully participate in tree plantation campaign on ‘Tiger Force Day’ being observed on 9th August.
Addressing a news conference, the special assistant said the volunteers will plant one million saplings across the country on that day.
He said the forest department will identify the sites of tree plantation and the volunteers in collaboration with the district administration will plant the saplings. He said Tiger Force App has been launched to empower the volunteer force.
The special assistant said one million youth have been registered under Tiger Force, while the government has so far benefited from 300,000 volunteers who played an important role during the coronavirus crisis.
He said the services of Tiger Force are being lauded at international level. He urged Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to benefit from the services of Tiger Force.

Earlier Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced to observe Tiger Force Day on 9th August across the country.
The prime minister said that he himself will become a part of the tree planting campaigns. “Ten billion trees will be planted by 2023 in Pakistan,” he added.
He said that elected representatives, chief ministers and ministers will also participate in the plantation campaign. He said environmental pollution is badly affecting our country and every citizen should participate in a plantation campaign.
“Pakistan is one of the ten countries that are vulnerable to global warming,” he maintained. “Climate change and pollution are affecting the health of people,” the prime minister said.
