Similarly, duty on imported sunscreen and sunblock products is also expected to be reduced from 44 percent to 40 percent, sources added.

The same reduction is likely for hair care raw materials used in salons and beauty parlours, bringing duties down from 44 percent to 40 percent.

For men’s grooming products, including shaving cream, aftershave lotions, and related items used in barber shops, the duty may be reduced from 40 percent to 35 percent.

Duty on facial cleansers, soaps, and related salon products is also expected to come down from 40 percent to 35 percent, according to sources.

In addition, machinery, equipment, and spare parts used in health clubs, gyms, and slimming centres are likely to see a reduction in import duty from 40 percent to 35 percent.

The proposed changes are part of discussions under Budget 2026-27 and are yet to be officially confirmed.
