LAHORE: A candidate of Asma Jehangir group, Syed Qalb-e-Hussain has been elected president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).
Shamim-ur-Rehman of Hamid Khan group was elected to the post of SCBA general secretary. He has defeated Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana from Asma Group.
A high turnout was witnessed in Supreme Court Bar Association election in Lahore as 981 out of 1299 registered voters at Lahore Registry cast their vote in today’s election.

Tough competition was held between Hamid Khan of the Professional Group and Syed Qalb-e-Hussain of Asma Jehangir group.
In Islamabad, there are 484 registered votes while Peshawar has 280 votes. Quetta, Bahawalpur, and Multan have 196, 89 and 203 registered votes respectively.

A total of 3,162 voters cast their votes to elect their 22-member body whereas the number of registered voters at Lahore Registry was 1299., while the Karachi registry has 504.
The polling stations were set up in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Lahore, Multan, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, and other cities.
