The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC) Rawalpindi has arrested a suspect accused of collecting Rs3.2 million from seven people on the promise of arranging work visas, but allegedly neither providing the visas nor returning the money.

An FIA official said on Thursday that the accused, identified as Umar Raza Naeem, was arrested after the agency registered FIR No. 208/2026 against him in the work visa fraud case.

The investigation established that the accused allegedly received Rs3.2 million for arranging work visas for seven acquaintances of the complainant.

However, the official said, the accused failed to provide the promised visas and also did not return the amount received from them.

The suspect was arrested during a raid conducted at around 6:30 a.m. by an FIA team comprising Inspector Amal Hashim and Sub-Inspector Umar.

The FIA Islamabad Zone reiterated its commitment to bringing elements involved in visa fraud and human trafficking to justice and continuing action against those exploiting people seeking employment opportunities abroad.
