The scenic valley of Swat experienced a record surge in the tourists during the Eid holidays, officials said on Saturday.
As per the data released by the official, more than 416,000 domestic and foreign tourist came to Swat during the Eid holidays while the arrival of the tourists still continue even after ending the official holidays.
According to officials, 101 foreign tourists from various countries were also among those who chose Swat as their Eid destination.
Despite the conclusion of the Eid holidays, many tourists have continued to camp at popular tourist spots across the region, including Kalam, Malam Jabba, Fizagat, Bahrain, and Mahodand Lake, further boosting local tourism and the hospitality sector.
Speaking to the media, Saeedur Rehman, spokesperson for the Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA), said, “We had already made necessary arrangements to facilitate the large number of tourists expected during Eid. Security, cleanliness, traffic control, and accommodation facilities were all streamlined to ensure a smooth experience.”
He added that the local administration remains committed to promoting Swat as a safe and welcoming destination. “Tourists are warmly welcomed to Swat,” he said.
