KARACHI: Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Sindh Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar formally launched the ‘State of the Art Zainab Alert Mobile App’ at Central Police Office Karachi on Tuesday.
In this regard a splendid ceremony was held in CPO, on this occasion high officials from all concerned departments, members of Civil Society, Officers, Sindh police and guests from CPLC along with volunteers were presented.
While addressing the gathering, IGP Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar highlighted the importance and need of the Mobile App to save the lives of future generations by using current Information Communication Technology (ICT). The IGP appreciated the efforts of the project team members to make this excellent app.
He hoped that soon more such apps will be added in Zainab Alert System, to address other issues like checking of vehicle use of ICT to identify criminals, through facial recognition, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning features.
While addressing the gathering CPLC Chief highlighted the importance of joint venture between the Police, CPLC and volunteers from M/s Invent Lab in counter crimes in the province.
He said that the app has thoroughly been tested for the last many months at CPO & CPLC by a dedicated team of experts to ensure that there is no bug in its operations of the alert system prior to its formal launching.
He said this app will fulfill the requirement of “establishment of a Zainab Alert system” for reporting missing children including maintaining the database across Pakistan. He added that he is confident, the launching of this app from Karachi will soon expand to national wide.
The project coordinator gave a detailed presentation about the APP. He mentioned that this APP is multi-linguistic. He said through this app many social problems can be solved without the use of public money.
