Karachi: A wedding celebration in Tando Allah Yar turned into a scene of distress and panic after around 400 people, including the bride and groom, reportedly fell ill after consuming suspected contaminated food.
According to sources, guests began experiencing vomiting, abdominal pain and drowsiness shortly after eating the food. They were immediately shifted to nearby medical facilities for treatment. The sudden arrival of a large number of patients prompted local hospitals to declare an emergency, while medical staff were placed on high alert.

Fortunately, following initial medical assistance and timely treatment, most of the affected people were discharged and allowed to return home. However, several patients reportedly remained under medical care.
The administration took immediate notice of the incident and launched an investigation. Samples of the food served at the wedding were also collected and sent for laboratory analysis to determine what caused the suspected food poisoning.
In view of the seriousness of the incident, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah took notice of the matter and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh and the Commissioner Hyderabad.
The chief minister directed the authorities to ensure that all affected citizens receive the best possible medical treatment without delay. He also ordered that emergency arrangements at the concerned hospitals remain fully operational and warned that any negligence or lapse in providing medical care would not be tolerated.
