Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to summit all 14 of the world’s 8,000-metre peaks (APP/File)

Pakistani mountaineer Sirbaz Khan has made history by becoming the first Pakistani to conquer all 14 of the world’s 8,000-meter peaks, placing him among the elite high-altitude mountaineers globally.

His latest triumph came with the successful ascent of the 8,027-meter Shishapangma, marking his 14th “eight-thousand peak.”

This remarkable achievement further solidifies Khan’s standing as one of the world’s most accomplished mountaineers.

It should be noted that he summited 11 of these peaks without supplemental oxygen, showcasing his extraordinary skill, endurance, and determination.

Hailing from the Hunza Valley, Khan began his mountaineering journey in 2017 with the summit of Nanga Parbat, the 8,126-meter “Killer Mountain.” Since then, he has taken on some of the world’s most formidable peaks, including K2, Lhotse, and Mount Everest.

  2. K2 (8,611 meters) – Date: 22nd July 2018
  3. Lhotse (8,516 meters) – Date: 14th May 2019
  4. Record: First Pakistani to summit Lhotse
  5. Broad Peak (8,051 meters) – Date: 11th July 2019
  6. Record: Summited without supplemental oxygen
  7. Manaslu (8,163 meters) – Date: 25th September 2019
  8. Record: Second Pakistani to summit Manaslu
  9. Annapurna (8,091 meters) – Date: 16th April 2021
  10. Record: First Pakistani to summit Annapurna
  11. Mount Everest (8,849 meters) – Date: 12th May 2021
  12. Gasherbrum II (8,035 meters) – Date: 18th July 2021
  13. Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters) – Date: 1st October 2021
  14. Record: First Pakistani to summit Dhaulagiri
  15. Kangchenjunga (8,586 meters) – Date: 7th May 2022
  16. Record: First Pakistani to summit 10 eight-thousanders
  17. Makalu (8,481 meters) – Date: 28th May 2022
  18. Record: First Pakistani to summit Makalu
  19. Gasherbrum I (8,080 meters) – Date: 12th August 2022
  20. Record: First Pakistani to summit Gasherbrum I
  21. Cho Oyu (8,188 meters) – Date: 2nd October 2023
  22. Record: First Pakistani to summit 13 eight-thousanders
