Sindh’s first tourist train launched: Here are all details you need to know

The Sindh government on Saturday launched the earlier announced first tourist train of the province. The Safari train, Called the Thar Desert Train Safari, will provide a unique path through the province.

Here is all you need to know about the train:

According to the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation, tickets for the train ride will begin at Rs30,000 per adult.  This amount also covers other expenses besides fare.

Route of the train:

The Thar Desert Train Safari follows a route from Karachi, passing through Hyderabad and Mir Purkhas, before reaching Chhor and finally Khokhrapar Zero Point.

The Thar Desert Train Safari departs from Karachi Cantt. Station at 10:00 AM on Saturday, arriving at Chhor (Parchi Jeveri) at 5:00 PM. The evening includes sunset viewing, camping, a bonfire, music, and dinner.

On Sunday, the journey continues from Chhor at 7:00 AM, reaching Khokhrapar Zero Point at 8:30 AM for breakfast and sightseeing.

The return to Karachi:

The train departs from Khokhrapar at 11:00 AM, arriving in Karachi at 6:00 PM.

Activities on the trip:

At Chhor (Parchi Jeveri), the tour includes sunset viewing, a bonfire, music, and dinner. Overnight accommodations are available either onboard the train, at a campsite, or in resorts at Parchi Jever.

Capacity of passengers:

The train consists of two business-class bogies with a combined capacity of 108 passengers, along with a dining car and a power van.
