Sindh schools to reopen on August 1 after summer break

Government and private schools across Sindh will reopen on August 1 following the end of the summer vacation.

According to the Education Department, regular academic activities will resume in all public and private educational institutions across the province from August 1. The six-day school week will also be reinstated.

The department’s notification said that, effective August 1, classes will be held as usual from Monday to Saturday in both government and private schools, and students will resume their academic studies.

It is worth mentioning that Despite having more than 53,000 public and private educational institutions, Sindh has nearly 7.6 million children out of school, according to Dr Aftab Ahmed Sheikh, Director of the Sindh Education Policy Commission.

Speaking at a conference at the University of Karachi, he described the situation as one of Pakistan’s most pressing educational challenges.

Sindh Education Department ends Saturday off, colleges to resume six-day schedule

The Sindh College Education Department has announced the end of weekly off on Saturday for colleges and directed teaching and non-teaching staff to join their duties. According to the notification, all government and private colleges have been instructed to ensure the attendance of their teaching and administrative staff on Saturday. The department said further instructions will be issued if required, and updates will be communicated accordingly. The move comes as colleges prepare to resume routine academic and administrative activities following the scheduled break. The authorities have advised college administrations and staff to comply with the directives and ensure smooth operations.
