KARACHI: The Sindh Police is set to embark on a significant recruitment drive, aiming to onboard 26,800 individuals through the third-party Sindh Testing Service. An agreement between the Sindh Police and the Sukkur Institute of Business Administration (IBA) has been forged in this endeavor.
The recruitment process will unfold in two phases, with an initial 12,500 positions slated for six regions. Subsequently, specialized units will see an additional 3,522 recruits.
Moreover, plans include the enlistment of 1,991 personnel in the Crowd Management Unit (CMU), 1,531 in the Rapid Response Force (RRF), and the hiring of drivers.
However, amidst these developments, recent allegations of police misconduct have surfaced. Following reports of a police party allegedly looting a trader’s residence, another citizen has come forward, claiming that a police squad confiscated Rs118 million from him near the Sachal police station’s jurisdiction.
Sindh IG Rafat Mukhtar Raja has taken cognizance of the incident, directing East Zone DIG Azfar Mahesar to conduct a thorough investigation.
