LAHORE: The Punjab government has opted to reinstate the health card scheme, albeit with certain modifications.
During a special session, the chief minister received a comprehensive briefing on Punjab’s health insurance initiative, during which Maryam Nawaz assured that no underprivileged individual would be denied access to complimentary medical care.
She emphasized that the project, originally initiated by the PML-N, would be recommenced with a sustainable framework. The rollout of this facility is expected within a few weeks.
The chief minister called for a viable strategy for relaunching the Sahet Card in Punjab and sanctioned the establishment of a task force to enhance the card’s efficacy.
According to Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, “Underprivileged patients will have access to cost-free treatment through the health card, with reduced premiums for the middle class.”
Furthermore, the health card scheme will encompass government employees and those employed in the corporate sector.
