Hyderabad: Sindh Police has come up with a new way to earn money as they have started demanding extortion for returning stolen vehicles.
In one such incident, a Qasimabad citizen was asked to pay Rs500,000 extortion for the return of his stolen bike outside his house.

Imdad Ali, a resident of Qasimabad, says that his car was stolen outside his house and the next day he received a call and was told to pay 500,000 for the return of his vehicle.
In an exclusive interview with MM News, the plaintiff said that after tracing the number, it was found that it belonged to Inspector Sajjad Anwar Memon, whose posting is in Karachi. The dacoit Fahad Mallah was arrested but Inspector Sajjad Anwar Memon openly came forward in his support.
Imdad Ali said that Inspector Sajjad Anwar Memon started pressuring to withdraw the case and later agreed to pay the price of the vehicle for withdrawing the case and gave a cheque which bounced in the bank.
He said police inspector Sajjad Anwar Memon was carrying out operations along with dacoit Fahad Mallah and now he was being threatened with dire consequences. Imdad Ali has appealed to the Sindh government and police officials for protection.
It is to be noted that Sindh police officers and youth have been found involved in most of the criminal incidents while investigations are also underway against the officers and personnel patronizing criminal elements in Karachi. However, complaints against police officers and officials are still ongoing.
