KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah presented a budget of Rs. 1713 trillion for the province in which the salary was increased by 15 percent and pension by 5 percent.
Around Rs. 459 billion has been allocated for ADP, Rs. 326 billion for education, and Rs. 219 billion for health. According to media reports, the Sindh Assembly session began under the chairmanship of the Speaker in which Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was presenting the budget of the Sindh government. The budget is Rs. 1713 billion with a deficit of Rs. 33 billion.
The Sindh Chief Minister announced a 15 percent increase in salaries and a 5 percent increase in pensions and said that 15 percent ad hoc allowance would be levied separately on salaries of government employees from July 1. On this occasion, the chief minister of Sindh also announced to upgrade of the police constable from grade five to grade seven.
The budget of the Sindh government is Rs. 1713.58 Trillion in which the annual total for the development program is estimated at Rs. 459 billion, Rs. 326 billion for education and Rs. 219 billion for health. Rs 174 billion has been allocated for pensions of retired employees. Rs 24 billion will be spent on improving agriculture and Rs. 78.59 billion has been allocated to local government.
Out of the annual development budget of Rs. 459 billion, Rs. 332 billion will be spent from local resources for 4158 schemes of the province while Rs. 91.14 billion will be raised from foreign funds. The annual development program of the districts will cost Rs. 30 billion and I will get Rs. 6.02 billion from the federation in PSDP.
