KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday accepted bail plea of Dania Shah, widow of anchorperson Aamir Liaquat, in a case of leaking objectionable video of her late husband.

The FIA cyber-crime circle Karachi, it may be recalled, had arrested the former wife of Aamir Liaquat Hussain, Dania Shah, from Lodhran in the obscene video leak case in December 2022.
A complaint in this regard had been filed by Aamir Liaquat’s daughter from first wife, Bushra.
In one of the court proceedings, Shah admitted that while the relevant videos were on her phone, she did not know who had extracted them from the device and then made them viral.

The prosecution in the case has said that the suspect recorded videos of private moments and then posted them online to make it viral.
He sought remand of the suspect to conduct further investigations in the case.
The prosecutor added that the suspect was part of a larger gang and that she was not acting alone.
Dania Shah had challenged her arrest in the SHC in an objectionable video case on Jan 19 last month. She stated in her petition that the FIA had illegally arrested her and it did not fulfill the legal requirements despite the submission of replies to the agency.

The SHC today ordered to submit surety bonds of Rs.200,000, and set free Dania Shah if she was not wanted in any other case.
