KARACHI: A case of a liquor bottle has been charged against former provincial minister Sharjeel Memon in the Judicial Magistrate South.
Sharjeel Memon along with five other accused Shakar Din, Mushtaque Ali and Muhammad Jam who are his servants and Central Jail, Karachi assistant superintendent Naseem Ahmed and Habib Ahmed in the case.
The court indicted Sharjeel Memon and others in the case but the convicted accused refused to accept the charges. The court, however, adjourned the hearing till 18th March after summoning the witnesses.
The liquor controversy Memon as in September 2018, was caught with the three bottles of liquor by the former chief justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar when CJP paid a surprise visit to the Ziauddin Hospital where he was admitted to.
Memon has immediately shifted to Central Jail of Karachi afterward. His servants admitted to interfering with evidence. His servant confessed to throwing the bottles into a dustbin.
Moreover, the Sindh High Court will hear his bail plea on 7th April in the assets case.
