Govt all set to introduce bill to regulate seminaries

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training expected to start seminaries registration process across the country from 1st March 2020.
According to details, no seminaries had been registered, affiliated with the ministry while all essential preparations had been finalized in this regard.
However, the Directorate General of Religious Education had also been set up in Islamabad while country-wide 16 regional offices were established.
Sources from the government said the staff has been posted in these regional offices from the National Commission for Human Development and Basic Education Community Schools.
Earlier, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has started to establish regional offices for their registration.
According to the details, the regional offices were also being inaugurated after establishing the head office in the Islamabad for the smooth registration of seminaries.
the sources said that the education ministry had also decided to award permission to the registered seminaries for the opening of their bank accounts and provision of monthly honorarium to two teachers selected by each seminary.
It further stated the lack of interference in the seminaries’ curriculum would be ensured, and the permission for the construction of two rooms would be given to those seminaries.
They said negations between the government and religious figures have remained successful in that regard and the process of providing guide criteria to seminaries had also been started. The sources said that the annual audits of seminaries would be declared mandatory.
