Twenty-one militants were killed during several security operations in different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the military’s media wing, security forces carried out operations against militants in different parts of the province between September 2 and 5. Several clashes took place during these operations.
ISPR said that security forces conducted an operation near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan on the night between August 31 and September 1, based on intelligence information. Ten militants were killed during the operation.
In a separate operation in North Waziristan, seven more militants were killed. Meanwhile, four militants were killed in two separate clashes in Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan, according to ISPR.
The military’s media wing said the total number of militants killed while attempting to enter Pakistan from across the border has now reached 25. Clearance operations are continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.
ISPR said security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism from the country and will continue their operations against militant groups.
The military’s media wing also said that cross-border attacks against Pakistan from Afghanistan are continuing.
Pakistan has urged the Afghan Taliban government to strengthen border management and take effective measures to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory for attacks against Pakistan.
