Dubai: At least 31 people, including children and women, were killed and 12 others injured in airstrikes on Yemen Saturday, the United Nations said.
As per reports, the Tornado aircraft came down Friday in northern Al-Jawf province during an operation to favor government military, a rare shooting down that provoked operations.
The noxious fighting follows a rise in fighting in northern Yemen between the warring parties that threatens to deteriorate the war-battered country’s humanitarian crisis.
Initial reports indicate that on 15 February 31 civilians were killed and 12 others sustained injuries in the attack.
UN coordinator Lise Grande, condemn the dreadful strikes. Grande stated five years into this variance and belligerents are still failing to uphold this responsibility.
According to television station Al-Masirah, the militants reported several coalition airstrikes in the area where the plane went down, added that women and children were among the dead and injured.
The coalition has been widely criticized for the soaring civilian death toll from its bombing operation, which has impelled some Western governments to cut arms deliveries to the countries taking part.
